HiQuu®
One moment.
Multiple sensory pathways.
Real-time shared experience.
HiQuu® is a patent-pending multisensory infrastructure created by composer, writer and synaesthetic artist Helen Epega.
Created from lived sensory experience and more than two decades of creative, educational and interdisciplinary practice, HiQuu® is being developed to help more people participate in shared experiences through the sensory pathways that work best for them.
Shared Experiences Should Be Shared
Too often, people are expected to adapt themselves to environments that were never designed with their sensory experience in mind.
HiQuu® is being developed to remove barriers to participation and help more people engage with shared experiences across culture, education, workplaces, health and wellbeing, public spaces and digital environments through the sensory pathways that work best for them.
For organisations, this creates new opportunities to reach, engage and connect with more people in meaningful ways.
Because access is not just about accommodation.
It's about belonging.
It's about feeling part of the same shared moment.
A multisensory infrastructure layer for live and digital environments.
HiQuu® is designed to translate signals into synchronised outputs such as:
- Sound
- Colour
- Vibration
- Haptics
- Light
- Text
- Cue pathways
- Other multisensory forms of translation
The system is being developed to support real-time shared experience across multiple sensory pathways, enabling more people to participate, engage and connect through the sensory experiences that work best for them.
The interface is only one layer of the experience.
Too many live and digital environments still assume a single way of sensing, processing and participating.
HiQuu® is underpinned by the Access as Creative Core™ framework, which embeds access into the architecture of experience itself rather than treating it as an afterthought.
This creates the potential for more responsive, adaptive and meaningful shared experiences across culture, education, workplaces, health and wellbeing, public engagement and beyond.
Across sectors, access is still too often added afterwards rather than considered from the beginning.
HiQuu® offers a different approach.
By embedding access into the experience itself, HiQuu® creates new possibilities for participation, engagement, communication, storytelling and belonging.
The result is the potential for more inclusive and meaningful experiences for audiences, visitors, learners, workplaces, communities and participants.

Composer, librettist, inventor,
synaesthetic artist and founder
of Well Tuned Human Ltd.
Helen Epega is a synaesthete who experiences sound as colour.
Through her work as a composer, writer, performer, educator and accessibility advocate, she began exploring a recurring and urgent question:
What if experiences could adapt to people, rather than people constantly having to adapt to experiences?
Helen developed the Access as Creative Core™ methodology from a core belief:
Access should not be treated as an afterthought. It should be embedded into the experience architecture from the beginning.
HiQuu® is the technological and infrastructural expression of that belief.
